CurlFest
July · 1-2 days
CurlFest was founded by the Curly Girl Collective in 2014 as a celebration of natural hair, Black beauty, and Black women's joy. Held annually in Brooklyn's Randall's Island Park, the festival attracts tens of thousands of attendees and has grown into one of the largest natural hair and beauty events in the world. Programming includes live music, beauty brand activations, wellness sessions, fashion presentations, panel discussions, and community-building moments. For many Black women, CurlFest represents the largest single-day collective celebration of natural Black hair culture and identity in the country.
Roadmap to Billions Conference
May · 2-3 days
The Roadmap to Billions Conference was launched by Black Women Talk Tech, a community founded by Esosa Ighodaro, Lauren Washington, and Regina Gwynn for Black women founders of scalable technology companies. The annual conference brings together Black women founders, investors, and operators for two to three days of programming focused on capital raising, scaling operations, product development, and exit strategy. The conference has positioned itself as the premier gathering for Black women building billion-dollar technology companies and remains one of the most direct pathways for Black women founders to access venture capital.
